Fu Chuk

"Fu Chuk" is a sweet soup and this was the favourite beverage of my late grandma.
My late grandma (102 years) already passed away in this earlier year 2009.
She had a very big family. She gave birth to 6 sons and 9 daughters.
Somehow now only remain 5 sons and 6 daughters. She had a lot of grandchildren.

She loved to cook this "fu chuk" for her children and grandchildren.
Since today is my off day and also a warm hot day too, I cooked this grandma's loving for my family to take it in tea time.
I like to share the way to cook it. It can be served for 1o people. Full of love from my late grandma.....

The ingredients are: Fu chuk (dried bigcurd) 60 grams, small barley 100 grams, ginko nut 100 grams, rock sugar 100 grams (according to individual taste), 2 eggs.

Step to make it :
1. We have to manage the ginko nut first, then cut into half. Wash it and put aside.
2. Rinse and soak into the water and put aside.
3. Washed the small barley cook it in the half pot of water and for 30 minutes.
4. Add in the ginko nut and cook for another 10 minutes.
5. Add in the fu chuk or dried bean curd and cook for another 15 minutes.
6. Add in the rock sugar then stir a bit.
7. Beat the eggs in the bowl and pour it round the clockwise on top of the soup and stir it.
8. Cook it for another 10 minutes...then served it. If cook with charcoal...may be can be cook for another 30 minutes...the taste of soup more yummy.

Live in the small village, so I have enough space to cook with this old type Chinese charcoal stove.

The well done yummy "Fu Chuk".
